Helpful Tips for Reducing Belly
Fat
Usually, when people gain weight, it is
around the belly, for both men and for women. The problem
in addition to carrying too much weight is that belly fat
is actually dangerous. Because of the location of the fat,
strain is placed on the heart. Other health risks
associated with belly fat include high blood pressure,
high cholesterol, diabetes, and even some forms of cancer.
Therefore, anything a person could do to reduce belly fat
will help them live a longer, healthier
life.
The following are some helpful tips
on reducing belly
fat, all that work.
• Drink Water – It is important to drink between six
and ten glasses of water daily. It usually takes a little bit
of practice but in time, people actually began to crave water.
For one thing, there are no calories in water. Then, to add a
little bit of flavor, fresh lime or lemon could be added, as
well as flavors with zero calories. Water also helps by
flushing out dangerous toxins and fat, thus seeing a reduction
around the middle.
•
Avoid
Alcohol – Now, people can enjoy a beer,
glass of wine, or cocktail on occasion but these are
loaded with tons of calories that will quickly put on
weight, often seen in the form of belly fat. The best
option is to eliminate alcohol altogether from the diet,
choosing water, tea, lemonade, and other healthier
beverages instead.
• Meal Size – When dining out, avoid combination
dinners or platters, choosing entrees as the first option. In
addition to saving money, the portion of the food is smaller
while still being satisfying. To enhance the entrée, a side
salad could be ordered along with tea or water. At the end of
the meal, the person will feel full but without an abundance of
calories that cause belly fat.
• Restaurant
Choices –
People need to remember that when eating in a restaurant,
they are the customer. That does not mean an entire meal
can be changed, but there is nothing wrong in asking for
substitutions. After all, chefs are accustomed to this. A
great example is if an entrée comes with some type of
cream sauce ask the restaurant for alternatives, possibly
something tomato based. Immediately, 50% of the calories
are cut.
• Snacking Before Dining
Out – While
this might sound strange, people often have a problem with
belly fat because they enjoy eating in restaurants. So these
individuals do not feel deprived, all they need to do is eat
something healthy, filling, and low in calories before heading
out. For instance, an apple with peanut butter is a great snack
that will provide a full, satisfied feeling.
• Exercise – To burn calories and fat, a person
needs to exercise. The best form is anything aerobic such as
hiking, swimming, biking, running, jogging, rock climbing, and
aerobic dance, anything that will challenge the body while
getting the heart pumping.
The bottom line is that while there are
numerous diets on the market that claim to help a person lose
belly fat, the two best ways include changing the way food is
consumed and adding in a minimum of 30 minutes exercise daily.
These two combined become extremely powerful and
effective.
